Future Finders College Update
Future Finders… ‘One step at a time’
We are starting this week’s blog with ‘The Hard Sell’ – Now I have done this before, but with our numbers at the College ever growing, we need employers to help to facilitate work placements for our learners.
Future Finders have been working with employers in and around Oldham for several years, building working relationships to ensure that we are able to offer placements to students, giving them an insight in to working life, with the potential to gain employment. We maintain our current placements but continually look for more exciting opportunities for our students to access.
This can be anything from office work to warehouse to hospitality, to hair and beauty; If you could offer even one of our learners an opportunity of experience real life working environments or even have a potential job opportunity, WE WOULD LOVE TO WORK WITH YOU and we have students ready and willing to learn!
Please contact either Maria Statham (Work Placement Coordinator) mstatham@newbridgegroup.org or myself Anne-Marie Thompson (Senior Lead Employability) amariethompson@newbridgegroup.org or you can call us on the college number 0161 518 7155 and we can arrange a meeting to answer any questions that you may have.
Here is the link to both the Newbridge College and Future Finders Employability College websites for you to have a look at what we offer;

Moving on to an update form our current Future Finders – It has been another busy week here on Future Finders and it is great to see all our students engaging in their placements and at college. This time of year, always seems busy but good busy! Lots of events happening from around the College, trying to finish off those final bits of course work, annual reviews and discussing destinations and outcomes, exams, applying for jobs, supporting events within the College and across the Multi-Academy Trust, it is all hands-on deck, and the students secretly thrive on the hustle and bustle of it all. Over the course of the year so far, we have seen students applying for and achieving new roles, we have students that are still trying to focus on what it is they want to do when they leave, we have students that are there just those final hurdles to get over, but as ever, Future Finders never let us down and just keep going! They know what they want to do, know what they need to do to get there and will hopefully reach that end goal.
The rest of this week’s blog is the ‘Day in the Life’ from Summer…
Summer has been part of New Bridge for several years. From Lumenus, to Pre-Internship to Future Finders but I will hand over to Summer to explain what she gets up to in a day at the RSPCA
A day in the life of Summer – RSPCA
Since the start of the term, I have been accessing the RSPCA as my future aspiration is to work with animals and complete animal care courses.
My working weeks starts at RSPCA, where I am taken by my Job Coach.
I work with other students there and we get our daily jobs from the staff. There are lots of different things that I do, from cleaning,
to spending time with the cats – This is my favourite part of the placement.
We are always busy, but I am loving it here!
