Future Finders College Update

Future Finders… ‘Jordan Moving On’

We have been keeping in touch with Jordan over at Grass Roots on his Kick Start Programme and he is doing incredible work on the site. He has been helping clear areas for development cutting back trees and undergrowth for future ventures and clearing ponds to encourage extra wildlife and growth. Jordan popped in to see the Future Finders group to say hello to all his friends and keep us all up to date with his fantastic new role.

He brought in a card and some chocolates for Anne Marie, Maria and Mike to say ‘thank you’ for the help and encouragement and it was much appreciated.

We are as proud of him as he is happy. Well done Jordan.

Great news, Josh Hope has a had a visit to his new placement this week ready for the new term. He will be working alongside Alan and Tom at Lees park on a fantastic sustainability project in our local area. Josh has previously worked at The Learning Centre in Horticulture, cutting back trees and bushes, mowing the grass and helping with planting salad and vegetables and so he is really looking forward to this new venture.

When we arrived we had a tour of the site and a chat about what he will be doing next term which includes preparing the ground for planting, taking care of the seedlings in the poly tunnels ready to plant out and helping take care of the site ready for the summer growth to come through. We will have more news next term and some great photos of him at work with his new work colleagues. Enjoy Josh, we look forward to your tales of the plot.

We have managed to secure some new placements for our students for next term which is really exciting and they are all ready to learn new skills, meet new people and have new experiences out in the world of work. We aren’t giving too much away at the moment but next term there will be lots of news and pics from us.

Enjoy the Easter break everyone!
