Head of College Update 1.4.22
Writing these updates is an absolute pleasure as I get to share what I see, live and breathe daily… which is being in the centre of a cluster of hardworking, committed and dedicated Future Finders students and staff members. Sincerely, thank you for all of your efforts during another productive week here at Future Finders Employability College. We are now part of the National School Breakfast Programme which means we can now provide all of our students with a nourishing free breakfast each morning. The menu includes ‘New York’ bagels and these are going down a treat. Especially, when topped with sugar-free jam or tangy lemon curd!
This week, Josie started her new placement at Age UK (in Bury) alongside Grace and Danielle who are now old hands at this and helped Josie settle in. She has been sorting clothes in the back of the shop, learning how to categories them and put them into different areas of the shop. Once they had priced, they all worked together to hang them all on the correct hangers using the correct size cubes and they are hung up ready to be steamed. Josie is also learning the different areas of the huge shop so that each item is in the right place. This is quite a task but she is doing really well and over the next couple of weeks will have mastered this. Keep going Josie, you are doing a great job.
Over this weekend, whether you are watching the football (like me), listening to music, spending time with family, loved ones and/or friends, watching a movie, reading a book or doing something else…. I hope you find some time for yourself, lighten your loads, forget some of your burdens and just enjoy. Please do have a great weekend, see you on Monday morning… ready to ‘go again’!
