Head of College Update

This week, I have reflected upon the importance of learning and education and how it can make a positive impact individually, within our communities and with the people we interact with each day. I really do hope that you get an opportunity to pause and consider the impact you make. Sometimes, it is extremely difficult to self-reflect. However, I want all Future Finders students and staff to know that your application and what you do is sincerely valued and impactful. I certainly do feel blessed to be in the centre of all of your hard work and commitment. More, importantly, I am extremely grateful – thank you. The mornings and nights are getting lighter and, this week, the days feel a little warmer… the Spring and Summer sun is certainly on its way. Whatever you have planned for this weekend, please do have a safe, happy and great one!

Future Finders Update:

Several Future Finders students visited the NASA built, seven metre diameter globe installed in the Q.E. Hall, Oldham. The students were amazed by the exhibition, which was made all the more special by the fact that they had the whole hall to themselves. It’s not often you get to walk around the world without leaving Oldham.

After visiting the Q.E. Hall, the students also stopped off at Gallery Oldham to look at the wonderfully colourful exhibition by a young female Asian artist called Zarah Hussian.

Our very own Zulaika Ali was so inspired by this artist’s work that she created a poster for Future Finders, showing the different types of work placements our students have enjoyed this year.

Josie’s First Day…

Josie has embarked on her new placement this week with Age UK in Bury. She has joined two of her pathway friends, Grace and Danielle, who showed her the ropes and explained what we would be doing. Josie found her feet quickly and was sorting clothes and separating out all the different sizes on the hanger rail with the help of Danielle who as you can see in the photo is now quite the professional.

Well done Josie you were great, especially for your first day and thank you Grace and Danielle for being so supportive.

Another great week for Future Finders students and placements… well done all!
