A Busy One…
I’m not quite sure where this week has gone, but it has been a busy one.
The highlight of the week for me was hearing that Danielle had received a £2 tip on her work placement!
As you know, we have faced some Covid 19 challenges towards the end of the week and I would encourage all students to continue to test twice weekly.
Avro Football Club update from Diane:
“Another successful week at Avro. This week one of Future Finders students Jojo also joined our group. All our students are independent travellers and always arrive on time ready for the day.
Part of our communication approach is to encourage our students to engage/interact with various staff on site. Lewis took the lead this week and asked Ged – site manager what jobs would need doing. Ged always finds time to sit down and have a chat, mainly about premier league football and what they have been up to over the weekend.
I have to say during the three days the students attended this week, again, I am amazed at their work ethic, great teamwork, supporting each other and delegating skills on who is doing which jobs around the grounds. It’s great to see they are becoming independent young adults and already using skills for the world of work.
We also bumped into Anthony Crolla and he has asked if the lads will work on keeping the pop-up gym clean and tidy sometime next week.
Our lads love lunch times, they are always polite and ask if they can have a kick about on the pitch, even I did a few “keepy uppies”, I think that’s what it’s called, or it was in the old days. Mike, our other job coach, also had a kick about with them on Wednesday, think he is regretting it now.
I cannot praise our students enough on their work ethic, it’s been another successful week, Ged also praised and congratulated the lads on helping out.
Well done Lewis, Jojo, Jordan and Alan.”
Have a restful weekend
