Well, we have actually come to the end of the academic year. I’m really not sure how it’s come round so quickly but this year has been very, very different.
As many of you will remember, it was back in December when Mr Wood mentioned that he would be passing over the college to myself. Since December I have got to know all the students and staff at the college and I must say that they have made me feel so welcome. I know you will all feel the same when I say the Medtia team are amazing. They not only support you and your child but they are a fantastic support to me in everything I ask them to do. Thank you Team for all your support during these difficult months.
Our job coach Genna has news of the students she supported down at Manchester Metropolitan University..
Hi, well our Future Finders students have been doing well and are probably looking forward to a week where I don’t call them!
Luka and Dom have been applying for jobs! Dominic is working with his uncle and helping with valeting cars and Luka and I went for a nice walk in the rain!
Our students have completed their Employability Level 1 Award this year and this will certainly help with all their future interviews. It’s been an interesting year but we are all very much looking forward to getting back in September. I will leave you with a short video from our students last year..

Now I will hand you over to our job coach, Anne-Marie..
During my last blog of the year I normally write about all the positive outcomes that have happened with Future Finders, we would have had our Awards Evening, probably had an end of year outing and of course, our trip to Salou – which I know many of you are disappointed that we didn’t get chance to go. You aren’t the only ones, I think the staff have missed this too. Instead, the year ended for us back in March……but in the short time that we had, we achieved so much!
From making new friends to meeting new work colleagues, trying different placements, achieving more independence and learning new skills, you all achieved so much!!
So I will leave you with some of the images that we have captured of you over the last year, just to show and remind you how far you have come..
Be proud of yourselves!!!
Take care, have a great Summer and hope to see you all again soon!
You will have received a letter regarding the changes we will be making to ensure that all our staff and students are kept safe when we return in September. As I noted in the letter, I will continue to keep in touch regarding the progress of the building and how transition will work for all the students moving to the new college.
Finally, I want to thank you all for all your support during this very difficult time.
I’m really looking forward to welcoming everyone back to our New Bridge College in September.
If you have any concerns over the holidays, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.
