Another busy week for the Future Finders students. Many of them have settled back into the world of work and continuing on their pathway to getting paid employment.

On Tuesday we had some positive news about Fahad who is currently attending Oldham Library on placement. He is working hard and showing great signs that he will get himself a paid job at the library – he has some interviews coming up so I am hoping that in the next couple of weeks I will be able to share with you the outcome.
Also this week, I asked the Future finders staff to send me an update on how the students are doing – this I will be sharing with the leadership team for the MAT – it will be great to show the trustee’s of Future Finders just how well our students are doing.

This leads me onto sharing with you what our future finders students have been up to this week..

We are now 2 weeks into the new term and our Future Finders are all busy on their new placements, getting to know the new routines and job roles.

Josh is over at David Lloyd, Middleton and working front of house ensuring the café is kept clean and tidy. He is interacting with customers and staff, delivering food and drinks to tables and remembering to be polite and friendly.

Fahad remains at the Library and is a fantastic help to customers, the feedback from the staff is that he is an invaluable member of the team. Customers have also commented on his willingness to help and his friendly manner when working around the library.

Matthew and Jason are settling in at the Guinness pop-up café, stocking up shelves and refilling the vending machines with the help of Lotfi, the café manager. Jason has also mastered using the iPad till to take card payments when serving customers.

Liam continues to work on his skills in the Atrium café, using the iPad till to take orders from customers and process card payments.

Meanwhile in Manchester this week, Luka and Dominic were at the Employer Engagement Event with Mr Wood where they were meeting and greeting employers and signing them in to the events room. A fantastic morning and they worked really well with all the staff to enable it to run smoothly.

Have a lovely weekend,
